After seven games, the report is in. Northwestern is simple an average team.

Nothing more, nothing less. This team is just simply mediocre. Northwestern fans love to get upset and all up in arms when the Wildcats don't meet expectations. However, what Wildcats fans and the players and coaches themselves should be saying is, maybe the expectations were too high. 

Expectations were high for Corey Wootton, who could have been a first-round pick had he not torn his ACL in last year's Alamo Bowl.  He has zero sacks this year.

Expectations were high for the defense, which was ranked in the top 50 in scoring and total defense last year for the first time in many years. The defense has been inconsistent at best this year.Â...
