Wide Margin a Good Thing Or a Bad Thing?

A few days ago, the AP polls were released, ranking the Florida Gators at No. 1 with 58 of the possible 60 first-place votes.

That amount of first-place votes is the most in the history of the AP poll, which began in 1950. They surpassed the 2007 USC squad that received 62 of 65 votes.

The only problem was this: that team, led by quarterback John David Booty, didn't get a chance to play for the national title, which was won that year by LSU, who lost to Kentucky and Arkansas, becoming the first team in college football history to win the national title by losing more than one game.
