Ah, the life of a Trojans fan when your team has fallen flat on its face after years of excellence.

Mired in the gloom of disappointment, you search for some form of rooting interest that makes the BCS championship game interesting.

At the same time, the disconcerted Trojans fan looks for a way to channel his or her rooting interest into some sort of glorification of their beloved, yet underachieving Men of Troy.

These are the challenges I find myself wrestling with as I ponder my rooting interests in watching the BCS championship game between the Texas Longhorns and the Crimson Tide of Alabama.

Please understand that for a Trojans fan, rooting for any team from the SEC is a tall order.
