Why Boise State’s No. 5 Ranking Is Too High

The Boise State Broncos jumped up to No. 5 in all of the major polls after destroying Bowling Green 49-14 on Saturday.

Okay, the Bowling Green game had nothing to do with it. However, the fact that No. 4 Ole Miss, No. 5 Penn State, and No. 6 Cal all lost to unranked teams sure did.

Even with all of the turmoil in the top 10 through the first quarter of the season, the Broncos should not be in the top five.

Why not?

Just look at their schedule. Oregon, Miami (the northern version), Fresno State, and Bowling Green don't exactly add up to quality lineup.
