When the Chips are Down or Momentum Needs Charging, Alabama Throws Deep

In every game this year when the game got tight or momentum needed to swing back to the Tide, Nick Saban and Jim McElwain knew just what to do: Throw deep.

Greg McElroy has astonishing touch on his deep balls and leads the nation in completion ratio of passes over 40 yards and that great news as "The Bomb" has been something that's been missing in the Tide's arsenal for quite a few years now.

Saturday was the perfect example of Alabama relying on that play to swing momentum back to them. Ahead 14-0, Arkansas mounted a drive and got to within a score with a Ryan Mallet touchdown pass to bring them back to 14-7.
