Virginia Tech Dealt Major Blow With Loss Leading RB Darren Evans

Darren Evans is out for the season after tearing the ACL in his left knee today in practice. Doctors confirm the tear and he will not be available until next season.

He is Virginia Tech's No.1 running back and the only back with extensive experience.
Tech was counting on Evans to take pressure off struggling QB Tyrod Taylor in the game against Alabama. This is sure to deal a severe blow to the Hokies.
Evans streaked through 1,265 yards last season and was the MVP in the big Orange Bowl win over Cincinnati.
