USF Player Injured in Accident at Busch Gardens

University of South Florida placekicker Maikon Bonani was severely injured when he fell 35 feet from a gondola at Busch Gardens today.

According to the Tampa Tribune, Bonani suffered a broken vertebra in his back, but the injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Bonani was injured while performing a safety check while working as an attendant on the sky ride at the theme park. Believing the car door to a gondola was not properly fastened, Bonani attempted to grab on to the door before it departed. It dragged him out of the terminal where he held on for 50 feet before falling...
