In 2007, UCF redshirt freshman defensive end Darius Hall electrified Conference USA with his 22 tackles, four tackles for a loss, and a sack.

Hall was named to the C-USA All-Freshman team that year and was poised for another fantastic season in 2008. However, a cancerous mass that appeared in Hall's chest after he was examined for not feeling well, eliminated any chance of playing during the 2008 season.

Hall has battled back, though, and will be playing for the Knights in the 2009 football season after receiving a medical redshirt.
