The Case For A BCS Playoff System

The Bowl Championship Series is a regular season playoff system that is very flawed. The BCS was designed to place the two best regular season college football teams into a one game playoff.

The biggest flaw in the BCS is that the parity of college football does not produce two clear cut, undefeated college football teams. Great teams like Florida, USC, Oklahoma and Texas in recent years have all slipped up during the regular season.

That is when the debate begins. Does an undefeated Utah team out of the Mountain West deserve a place in the BCS Title Game. Should Texas, who beat Oklahoma play Florida in the BCS Title Game? How do you explain a Texas Tech Team that beats Texas, then loses to Ole Miss, which beat Florida?
