SEC Football’s Most Feared Defensive Beasts, Part 1: The Best of the West

The late, legendary coach of Alabama, Bear Bryant, once said, "Offense sells tickets, defense wins championships."  Bryant also quipped, "There's no substitute for guts."

These defensive beasts, who lack not for guts, seldom get the accolades or media coverage that they deserve, but play an instrumental role in the ultimate measure of success for their teams, wins.

It's no coincidence that the the top teams in the SEC, college football's most prestigious conference, typically have the best defenses in all of college football.

Here's a look at the most feared defensive players from the Western Division of the SEC.
