Undefeated mid-majors used to be relegated to the Liberty Bowl or Motor City Bowl. Miami (OH), Marshall, Tulane, Boise State, and Louisville have all taken it in stride and finished out their cupcake schedules in non-BCS bowls.

In 2007, Hawaii played two teams with a winning record and two FCS teams and somehow barely survived that gauntlet. They were rewarded with a BCS Bowl.  That is a joke. Georgia blitzed every play and treated them like the joke they were, but the main thing here is that it was an outright joke.

Beating Fresno and Boise at home (along with 10 cupcakes, two of which went to OT) allowed mighty Hawaii to jump about 30 or 40 more deserving teams for that Sugar Bowl spot. "They won all the ga...
