New Vanderbilt QB Larry Smith Has Tools, Will Saw Away at Western Carolina First

Larry Smith will start the season opener for the Commodores against Western Carolina on Sept. 5.

Coach Bobby Johnson had the following to say about Smith. "He's got a lot of tools to run the offense, to be able to throw the ball downfield." Larry also has presence in the pocket. He sees the field very well and knows what we're trying to do with the offense."

Mackenzi Adams has nine career starts compared to Smith's one, but Johnson liked his chances with Smith.

Don't think you wont see Adams. Johnson had this to say about the senior QB.

"We're extremely pleased with Mackenzi Adams, the way he's worked. We feel equally confident that he can go in the game if needed and execute our offense."
