Motor City Bowl Receiving Name Change

The Motor City Bowl will no longer be known by that name.

Motor City Bowl CEO George Perles told WWJ Lansing, Mich. Bureau Chief Tim Skubick Monday that the name will be changed due the problems in the auto industry.

The "Big Three" had sponsored the game from 1998-2007, but Chrysler dropped its sponsorship for last year's game. However, Ford and General Motors kept their sponsorship for the 2008 game.

The new title sponsor is likely going to be Little Caesar's Pizza, while the company is expected to vote on the sponsorship later this week. The new name will be announced in a couple weeks, according to Perles.
