Louisville Cardinals Score Big With Charlie Strong As New Coach

While the Big East ponders the possible loss of Cincinnati coach Brian Kelly to Notre Dame, Louisville has scored big, landing the No. 1 man on its list, University of Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong.

Strong will be introduced at Louisville this afternoon. He confirmed his new job with Florida Today .

Strong has been the successful coordinator and assistant head coach for Urban Meyer and the Gators.

He joined the Florida staff in 2002 and coached one game for the Gators as interim head coach when Ron Zook was fired.

Strong was Louisville's first choice from the moment Steve Kragthorpe was fired.
