Amidst the disheartening news of Frankie Telfort, who was forced to quit football due to a heart condition and the injuries, though minor, to quarterback Aaron Corp and center Kris O'Dowd, came the very welcome news that the No. 1 rated wide receiver by Scout Inc. has given his verbal pledge to the Trojans today.

Robert Woods, a 6'2", 185 pound wide receiver from Serra High School in Gardena, CA comes with sterling credentials.

A 4.45 speedster with what has been called "soft but strong hands," Woods combines "terrific straight line speed" with the ability to get "excellent separation."
