Kiehl Frazier Commits to Auburn Tigers, Brey Cook Yet to Decide

The #15 ranked recruit in his class, Kiehl Frazier, has committed to Auburn, per AuburnSports.com.

Recently, the very highly touted dual-threat quarterback from Shiloh Christian School had narrowed his list down to Auburn and Arkansas, and whether this was just a formality after his much-enjoyed Auburn visit, is unclear.

Frazier told AuburnSports.com that Gus Malzahn was the first coach to offer him and that “I’m familiar with his offense. We still run the basics of it at Shiloh.”

The Gus Malzahn/Arkansas connection wreaks yet another casualty.

But the good spring performances of Jacoby Walker, Brandon Mitchell, and Tyler Wilson demonstrate that Bobby Petrino has no shortage of quality QBs competing for a chance to follow in Ryan Mallett’s footsteps.

Arkansas fans are still awaiting a decision from Springdale Har-Ber offensive lineman Brey Cook, who is expected to announce soon as well. Cook is ranked as the 28th best recruit for 2011 by MaxPreps.

Brey has said he intends to make a commitment in June and that he currently favors Alabama, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, but Southern California, Notre Dame, and Auburn are also in the mix.

He has visits scheduled for Alabama and Auburn next month.

Losing two of the state’s most talented seniors to any school will be tough for Arkansas fans to stomach, but losing them both to Auburn would be downright unconscionable.
