Jon Gruden was said to be the next head coach of the Miami Hurricanes.

This was the rumor that was hot and heavy for days after the university fired head coach Randy Shannon. However, SI.com's Peter King emphatically denied that this rumor was going to come to existence. In fact, Gruden himself released a statement denying it.

Well, sort of.
