As the case against embattled Notre Dame football Coach Charlie Weis continues to build, further evidence that he would be fired after the season ends emerged when it was revealed that the renowned recruiter would not be sticking around after this weekend’s Stanford game—as originally expected—and instead, will be heading back to the Notre Dame campus.

In all likelihood, the biggest decision that surrounds the Notre Dame football program will be whether Weis is around to coach the team should the Fightin’ Irish be invited to a bowl game. A loss vs. Stanford Saturday would drop Notre Dame to 6-6 on the season and despite their desirability to bowl committees, it’s hard to believe the team would accept a bid.
