Just five quick thoughts on five of last night's season openers.

Carolina Duel

The SEC again proved its domination over the ACC in this defensive battle.  Better luck in Atlanta, but I am not sure I see it. 

But how come Steve Spurrier cannot find offense?  Shocking. 

Given the hype going into the season over a Wolfpack team that has average for most of this decade, nice to see that the Gamecocks could shut that talk up. 

The Wolfpack, whose next two games are against FCS schools, hoped to use this game as a platform to a top 25 ranking.  Oh, well.

The Old Ball Coach looks to have another average season, going 7-5 or...
