Ducks Smoke Blount: Why Oregon Made the Right Call To Ban Its Top Running Back

The University of Oregon announced Friday it had suspended senior running back LeGarrette Blount for the remainder of the season, including a potential bowl game.

The suspension ends Blount's college career, since this was his last year of eligibility.

The Ducks' (now former) starting running back was expected to have a huge senior season. He rushed for 1,002 yards and 17 touchdowns last year—his first in Eugene.

Blount was named to the Doak Walker watch list during the summer. The Doak Walker award goes to the nation's best running back.
