The opening 15 minutes of Saturday's game between Florida and Kentucky demonstrated why the Gators are the best college football team in the nation.

During the first quarter, Coach Urban Meyer's Gators outscored the Wildcats 31-0 and  appeared able to do as they wished against the home-standing underdogs from the Bluegrass Commonwealth.

When Florida plays to their ability, there is no issue concerning the outcome of any contest with opponents they face on the field. So let it be said, so let it be written.

It is the other 45 minutes of the Kentucky contest that concerns onlookers. And that is why the case for the 2009 season BCS Champion is not yet closed.

For their part, Texas looked impressive...
