Carson-Newman opened the season ranked No. 9 in the preseason poll. But with back to back loses to Winona State and North Alabama on the road things did not look good for the Eagles.

Winona State is ranked No. 20 while North Alabama is ranked No. 3 in the latest AFCA Division II football poll.

Well everything went right for the Eagles in thier home opener last night. The Eagles beat Campbellsville 38-10.

Junior wide receiver Doug Belk hauled in four receptions for 82 yards and tied a school record with three touchdown receptions.
