Big East Greats

Football in the Big East is a fairly new. The conference was formed in 1991. It had eight original teams; Miami, Syracuse, Boston College, Rutgers, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, and Temple. After the 2004 season Miami and Virginia left to go join the ACC. That Year the Big East added Connecticut. The next year Boston College left for the ACC and Temple also left. The Big East added Cincinnati, USF, and Louisville that following year to bring the total of teams back to eight. With all of those teams in the conferences’ history there have been many greats to play there. This slideshow is dedicated to greats who dawned the pads every Saturday.
