2009 Preview: Vanderbilt Keys to Success Vs Western Carolina’s Offense

The Vanderbilt Commodores open up the 2009 season with a game against FCS Western Carolina.

Western Carolina were 3-9 last season. Dennis Wagner returns for his second season as coach. Western had a terrible offense last season scoring only 211 points and the defense gave up 347 points.

Zack Jaynes will be returning as QB for Carolina. Jaynes threw for 1,163 yds last season, his 109.0 QB rating is nothing to sneeze at. He is also the leading rusher coming back for Western. Jaynes ran for 148 yards last season. Jayson Williams returns also, he rushed for 145 yards last season.

Marguel Pittman was the leading receiver last season catching 40 passes and 568 yards with four touchdowns.
