Marquette’s Acker Rejoins Marquette Golden Eagles

Point guard Maurice Acker has re-joined the Marquette Golden Eagles basketball team after leaving two months ago to focus on his studies.  Acker, a senior, was on track to graduate in the fall but will need to take a couple more classes in the spring to graduate on time.  Because of this, he re-joins the rebuilding Golden Eagles the week before classes start.

 

Last season, Acker averaged 2.8 points and 1.8 assists and played a key role in the Golden Eagles’ season after starting point guard Dominic James went down with a broken foot.  The 5-foot-7 junior took over starting responsibilities and averaged 5.3 points in those starts, including 12 against Villanova in the Big East To...
