Israeli Basketball Standout to Join Florida Gators

Nimrod Tishman, a 6-foot-6 point guard, is hoping to join Billy Donovan for the 2009-2010 season.

The Israeli guard averaged just over 18 points during the Under 18 European championships where he paired up with some of the world's greatest talents. 

Tishman comes to Gainesville just two months after Florida lost star Nick Calathes to professional ball in Greece.

This left the Gators scrambling but they managed to find someone from the international talent pool.  

Tishman is the first Israeli to play NCAA basketball since Nir Cohen attended The University of San Diego.  Cohen now plays professionally in Israel.
