After being ranked first in the nation for the first half of the season, the Duke Blue Devils have lost twice in their last six games, not to mention a blowout loss to a 12-8 St. John’s team. 

The Blue Devils are now ranked fifth in the nation and they find themselves only a half game ahead of the North Carolina Tar Heels in the ACC, a conference that is very down from previous years and a conference that the Blue Devils were supposed to go undefeated in.

With this being said, is it time for the Duke Blue Devils to push the panic button? The answer is no.

These two loses came on the road to Florida St., and of course, St. John’s. After the loss to Florida St, Duke won four games in a row by an average of 17.5 points per game. 

Duke has taken down two Top 10 teams in Michigan St. and Kansas St. Although these games are their only notable wins, the Blue Devils are still one of the best teams in the nation.

The Duke Blue Devils brought back returning starters Kyle Singler and Nolan Smith from last years championship team and they added some good players to the team in Seth Curry and Kyrie Irving.

Although Irving may be out the rest of the season with an injury, Duke has a phenomenal bench that plays a lot of minutes. If that is not good enough, they have that one coach named Mike Krzyzewski, who has obviously had a lot of success.

The Blue Devils are one of the highest scoring teams in the nation, averaging 85.3 points per game, and when they are shooting well, they are very tough to beat. 

Playing in a weak ACC this year, the Blue Devils should have no problem with the rest of their season and they should wrap up the ACC title with ease.

Duke has nothing to worry about, and going into the NCAA Tournament, they will once again be a No. 1 seed.
