It was a frigid Tuesday night in Ames, but inside the Hilton Coliseum, DeAndre Kane was on fire, showing the nation why he might be its most underrated player.

Kane scored 30 points and added eight boards, nine assists and five steals to key No. 9 Iowa State to an 87-72 victory over No. 7 Baylor.

Melvin Ejim also chipped in 18 points and freshman Monte Morris poured in 13 off the bench.

After securing a narrow two point halftime lead, Fred Hoiberg's team came out to start the second like a team possessed, and with this victory, they put the rest of the Big 12, and country, on notice.
