Boise State 2011 Commit Emil Smith Dies in Head-On Car Crash

Today is a sad day for Boise State, Hemet, and Emil Smith.

Smith was a Boise State recruit set to play in 2011. His drive, passion, and skill was unquestionable. He was an 18-year-old linebacker out of Hemet, California. He'd received offers from the likes of Air Force, UTEP, Washington, and OSU before picking the Broncos. 

Last night, all those dreams came to a sudden end.

Smith and friend Dimitri Garcia were killed in a head-on collision between their Dodge neon and a minivan at around 12:30 am. Police reports, as well as other news articles, state that Garcia, who was driving, lost control and flipped the median into oncoming traffic.
