Villanova coach Jay Wright earned his first Big East tournament title after Saturday night’s 69-52 victory over Xavier at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Dylan Ennis led the No. 1-seeded Wildcats with 16 points. Josh Hart scored 15 points and Darrun Hilliard II finished with 12 points. The Wildcats made 24 of 48 shot attempts and knocked down nine of 23 attempts from long range.

Villanova led 34-21 at the break, despite a respectable effort from coach Chris Mack’s Musketeers, who were led by Dee Davis and Jalen Reynolds—who each scored 13 points.
