The quarterfinals are underway in the NIT as the eight remaining teams fight Tuesday and Wednesday night for the chance to play at Madison Square Garden in the next round.
In particular, Stanford punched their ticket to New York City with a three-point victory over Vanderbilt at the Maples Pavilion on Tuesday night.
En route to the quarterfinals, the Commodores took down St. Mary’s before blowing out South Dakota State by 15 points. However, their 12 made three-pointers were not enough to beat Stanford.
On the other side, the first two rounds were merely a checkpoint for Stanford, due in large part to Chasson Randle.
