The 2012 U.S. Army All-American Bowl featured multiple verbal commitments from some of the top recruits in the nation. No one had as good of a day as the University of California, as they picked up three big-time commitments.
Safety Shaq Thompson, defensive lineman Ellis McCarthy and wide receiver Jordan Payton all gave verbal pledges to spend the next four-to-five years of their lives at Berkeley.
Thompson is a 6'2", 210-pound safety from Sacarmento's Grant High School in California. He is a head hunter who stood out among the All-Stars in today's game. He is physically ready to see immediate playing time in the Golden Bears defense in the fall.
