BYU freshman guard Tyler Haws has received a call to serve in the Philippines Quezon City Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Greg Wrubell, radio play-by-play man for the Cougars, reported the call on his blog at KSL.com. Haws also reportedly posted the information on his Facebook account.
According to Wrubell, Haws will learn Tagalog on his mission, which begins in Provo's Missionary Training Center on June 2.
He is expected to serve the typical 24 months, meaning Haws will return in time for the 2012-13 basketball season.
