In 2009, Nebraska's Ndamukong Suh became the first defensive player voted The Associated Press College Football Player of the Year. His dominance over offensive lines last season is a huge reason for that. The defensive tackle recorded 85 tackles (20.5 for loss), 12 sacks, 10 pass break-ups, 19 quarterback hurries, and an interception. Suh didn't just earn himself Player of the Year, he also won a plethora of other college football awards. He was the recipient of the Nagurski, Bednarik, Lombardi and Outland Awards.
