Mal Moore has announced that a statue of coach Nick Saban would be erected in honor of the recent national championship.
The question is, "Why now?"
A statue of Saban erected on theĀ "Walk of Champions" at this point in time would simply be a distraction. Coach Saban preaches day in and day out about avoiding distractions. Why in the world would Mal Moore put the biggest distraction to future success right in front of the coach every given Saturday.
I am surprised that Saban hasn't protested. He should insist that Moore wait until he retires. What happens if he wins another National Championship? Is there going to be another erection? In my mind, that is a doubtful proposition but what if it turns out to be the case?...
