Amile Jefferson Ruled Eligible for 2016-17 Season: Latest Comments and Reaction
Duke senior forward Amile Jefferson had his medical hardship waiver approved by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Friday. The decision gives him an extra season of eligibility for the 2016-17 season.
The Blue Devils confirmed the news on their official athletics site. Jefferson made just nine appearances for the team last season before suffering a season-ending foot injury.
It was an untimely setback for the Philadelphia native, who was finally getting a chance to play an expansive ...
Thanks to Family and a Few Famous Friends, Duke’s Jayson Tatum Ready for Stardom
They happened roughly two hours and 1,200 miles apart on the opening Saturday of the NCAA tournament. In Providence, Rhode Island, Duke outlasted Yale 71-64 to advance to the Sweet 16. And in Columbia, Missouri, St. Louis' Chaminade College Prep held off Springfield's Kickapoo High 72-59 for a state championship.
America cared deeply about one of those results, if not the other.
Yet shortly after the Blue Devils' dynamic duo of sophomore Grayson Allen and NBA draft-bound ...
Tennessee Football Recruiting: Breaking Down Top 2017 Targets at Each Position
You'd think with all the hype surrounding the Tennessee football program, the Volunteers would be one of the hottest teams on the recruiting trail.
Though coach Butch Jones has rebuilt UT through exceptional work throughout his first four classes, the Vols haven't gotten off to the greatest start in the 2017 cycle. Tennessee is currently ranked 36th nationally and has five 3-star prospects and one lone 4-star, per 247Sports.
There's plenty of time to turn that around.
While ...
Avery Roberts to Nebraska: Cornhuskers Land 4-Star ILB Prospect
Inside linebacker can serve as the quarterback of a defense, which is surely what Nebraska hopes Avery Roberts will become when he arrives on campus in 2017.
On Thursday, Roberts explained to Brian Dohn of Scout.com his reasons for choosing to become a Cornhusker:
I'm going to Nebraska. I feel like it's the best place for me to achieve everything I want to do. It's a family environment and great coaches that cares about me. They've always been there. From the ...
Unheralded CBB Freshmen Set to Break Out as Sophomores in 2016-17
The college basketball junkies are all-in on Indiana's OG Anunoby as a breakout sophomore in 2016-17, but hardly anyone outside of Bloomington even knew the 3-star recruit's name until the middle of last season.
And Anunoby is No. 1 on our list of players who are most likely to transition from unheralded freshmen to stud sophomores, so don't be ashamed if you've never heard of most of these guys. Rather, use this as your opportunity to ...

Just over a month after his father, Hardy Nickerson, was named Lovie Smith’s defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at the University of Illinois, Hardy Nickerson Jr. announced that he will transfer to the Big Ten school after graduating from the University of California this spring.
The 6'0", 225-pound linebacker explained the reasons that fueled his decision on Thursday in a message on Twitter:

Alexis Johnson False Imprisonment Charge Dropped, Assault Charge Reduced
Tennessee defensive lineman Alexis Johnson had a felony count of aggravated assault reduced to misdemeanor domestic assault as part of an agreement reached Thursday. If he stays out of trouble for six months, the lesser charge will be dropped as well.
WBIR reported Knox County Sessions Court Judge Chuck Cerny signed off on the deal, which relates to an alleged incident involving a woman who accused him of choking her and holding her against her ...
Ohio State Football Recruiting: Breaking Down the Top Target at Each Position
Ohio State's 13-member recruiting class in 2017 is currently ranked No. 1 nationally by 247Sports, and judging from the remaining targets left on head coach Urban Meyer's board, the Buckeyes are trying to gain an unbreakable grip on the top spot.
The one thing that could prevent Ohio State from staying on top of the recruiting mountain is a current numbers crunch. The Buckeyes are a young team with only six scholarship seniors on the roster, leaving ...
College Football Teams with Best Shot to Go Undefeated in 2016
Every team strives for it, yet a select few—if any—reach it. The undefeated regular season in college football is a monumental task, one that even the best teams fall short of each year.
In an unpredictable sport in which one play or one call could be the difference between winning and losing, getting through a 12-game schedule with a goose egg in the loss column comes down to more than just raw talent. For example, Alabama, ...
USC Football: Projecting Trojans’ Post-Spring 2-Deep Depth Chart
Though Clay Helton has technically been USC Trojans' head coach for more than six months, with 10 games under his belt, there was still a sense of newness to his first spring practice period. Having taken over as interim coach midway through the 2015 season, everything he did those first few months was on the fly. This offseason has allowed him to slow things down and really assess what he has to work with.
And though ...
