College Basketball Teams Acing the Early 2015 Recruiting Period
The recruits in college basketball’s class of 2015 have many months left to decide on a school, but coaches have managed to talk some of the best into very early commitments. Although getting a fast start doesn’t always mean a top-flight class by the start of the season, it certainly doesn’t hurt a program’s chances any, either.
Kentucky’s John Calipari, for his part, has already secured one of the best scorers available in Charles Matthews. Although ...
Duke Basketball: Will Cavaliers Take Jabari Parker with NBA Draft’s No. 1 Pick?
As we approach the 2014 NBA draft, there is a foursome that has separated itself from the rest of the field. Duke’s Jabari Parker is very much a part of that group, along with Andrew Wiggins, Joel Embiid and Dante Exum.
The question now from a Duke perspective is whether the Cleveland Cavaliers will pull the trigger on Parker with the No. 1 pick like they did with fellow Blue Devil Kyrie Irving. Of course, the ...

We know who the contenders are going to be in college basketball in 2014-15. Well, at least we think we do, which is why top-25 rankings for next season came out almost immediately after last season ended.

Bill Self Is College Basketball’s Recruiting King After Kansas’ Latest Signing
Kansas signed one of the top European prospects in the world Wednesday in Ukrainian wing Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk, per the school's site.
Roy Rana, who coached Mykhailiuk at the Nike Hoop Summit in April, compared the Ukrainian to former Michigan wing Nik Stauskas, who Rana has also coached for Team Canada.
"(Mykhailiuk) maybe slightly more athletic, but I think Stauskas is a little bit more accomplished as a shooter," Rana told Bleacher Report. "He was extremely impressive right ...
King’s Court: Why Joel Embiid Should Be the No. 1 Pick in the 2014 NBA Draft
News, notes and thoughts from the college basketball world. And a few other things too.
1. Within an hour of Tuesday’s NBA draft lottery, pro basketball experts across the country began posting updated versions of their mock drafts. The majority of them predicted Cleveland would select Kansas’ Andrew Wiggins with the No. 1 overall pick.
Wiggins certainly wouldn’t be a bad choice.
But I’d take Joel Embiid.
And I wouldn’t even hesitate.
I attended 14 Kansas games last season and ...

The second day of the 2014 ACC baseball tournament promised excitement, with two of the nation's elite teams in Miami (Florida) and Florida State in action. Andrew Wiggins and Joel Embiid Will Be Top Two Selections of 2014 NBA Draft
When the Cleveland Cavaliers defied the odds and won the top-overall selection of the 2014 NBA draft during Tuesday's lottery, things were shaken up in a big way.
Top prospects like Andrew Wiggins and Joel Embiid had inklings of where they would wind up in the NBA.
Or so they thought.
With the revamped draft order, two things have happened: Their NBA destinations have changed, and their status has been nearly solidified as the draft's first-and second-overall selections.
Let's break ...

Dayton Students Celebrating Elite 8 Run Cost Taxpayers $57K in Police Funding
Although the Dayton Flyers had the city buzzing with an unexpected run to the Elite Eight in the 2014 NCAA tournament, their success ended up costing the city quite a bit of money.
Dayton students flooded campus streets several times after the team pulled off upsets during the tournament. The students—and the university's president—had a good time, but it's not as much fun now that the bill has arrived.
According to the Dayton Daily News' Steve Bennish and Jessica Heffner, the ...
