For the time being, Texas A&M's quarterback competition has gotten a little narrower. That doesn't mean, however, that it's over.  According to Sam Khan Jr. of ESPN.com, Aggies sophomore Kenny Hill has been indefinitely suspended following his public intoxication arrest. News of Hill's arrest was first reported by the Bryan-College Station Eagle: Kenny Hill, a 19-year-old sophomore from Southlake, was taken into custody in the parking lot of Chimy’s on University Drive just before 3 a.m., according to ...

Michigan Football: Will Wolverines Regain Recruiting Momentum?

The recruiting trail hasn't exactly been kind to Michigan in recent months. Head coach Brady Hoke and company have struggled to secure key pledges during campus visits, lost their clutches on a pair of 5-star prospects and whiffed on America's top-ranked quarterback. Cornerback Garrett Taylor halted a serious commitment drought in Ann Arbor when he created a verbal pact with the program earlier this week. The 4-star Virginia product became the fifth member of Michigan's 2015 class, but he's the ...

Why Frank Beamer Is the Next Mack Brown

Posted by Sean Frye on March 28 2014 Add Comments
Mack Brown's departure from Texas was far from the glorious exit to the sunset that, just a few years ago, everyone in Austin thought he deserved.  The Longhorns competed for a national title in 2010. Brown won one in 2006 thanks to Vince Young and one of the greatest national title performances in FBS history. Texas won two Big 12 titles and six Big 12 South titles when the conference used to be two divisions.  But Brown's ...

Notre Dame Football: Are Irish Ready to Battle the ACC?

Posted by Ben Kercheval on March 28 2014 Add Comments
Notre Dame's football schedule gets a new look in 2014 as the Irish begin their football agreement with the ACC.  With something resembling a conference realignment, Notre Dame agreed to play five ACC teams a year as part of a partial, non-football membership. However, a slight alteration means there will be just four ACC opponents this season: Syracuse, North Carolina, Florida State and Louisville.  Notre Dame's 2014 schedule has its fair share of obstacles. The rivalries with Michigan and ...

Offense has been the story of the Big 12 in each of the past two seasons—only for a different reason each time. In 2012, the offenses couldn't be stopped. Going by yards per game, the Big 12 had the Nos. 2, 4, 10, 12 and 13 attacks in America. That's 38 percent of the nation's top 13 offenses or, as some might call it, a downright monopoly. In 2013, Baylor remained dominant and finished with the most ...

Michigan Football: 5 Players Who Should See Their Roles Expanded in 2014

Change is inevitable. By virtue of graduation, expired eligibility and recruiting, each new season brings about a fresh crop of contributors and potential heroes. If all goes as planned, that’ll be the case for Michigan, which loses Jeremy Gallon, Taylor Lewan and Michael Schofield. But it shuffles Keith Heitzman, Ross Douglas and Jake Ryan, among others, to new spots within the scheme. Getting the most out of each athlete is the name of the game for Wolverines head ...
