Today is a sad day for Boise State, Hemet, and Emil Smith.
Smith was a Boise State recruit set to play in 2011. His drive, passion, and skill was unquestionable. He was an 18-year-old linebacker out of Hemet, California. He'd received offers from the likes of Air Force, UTEP, Washington, and OSU before picking the Broncos.

Emil Smith, a 2011 recruit who verbally committed to play for Boise State, died in an automobile accident Saturday night.
Smith, a weakside defensive end from Perris, California, was a passenger in a speeding automobile, and died approximately one hour after arriving at the hospital.
Before committing to Boise State, Smith was entertaining offers from Duke, Air Force, and UTEP, along with Pac-10 schools USC, Oregon State, and Washington.
