With Nebraska Added, Will Penn State Fans Finally Embrace the Big Ten?
It’s been two decades since Penn State joined the Big Ten. Yet there are times when I have a sense that many Penn State fans long for the days when we weren’t so completely tied to Big Ten conference opponents and dynamics. I have the impression that many Penn State football fans haven’t yet totally embraced the entire Big Ten. Or they believe that Penn State should have joined the ...
Tennessee Vols Bar Brawl: A Rocky Bottom for Rocky Top
Over the past year and a half, covering Tennessee athletics has been an adventure. The last 18 months have featured a vicious cycle of hatred for coaches, coaching searches, coaches with loose tongues, NCAA investigations, a coach abruptly leaving the school, more hatred for said coaches, another coaching search, and incidents with athletes wielding weapons, involved in drugs, and now, bar-room brawls.
When Derek Dooley took over this fledgling football team in January, we heard there ...
More Trouble With The Vols: Here We Go Again
Good grief! Is it something in the Knoxville water that makes Vols go crazy?
I am not judging, but I think most fans are incredibly frustrated by the recent events surrounding the accusations involving Da Rick Rogers and Darren Myles. Did they do what the police say they did? I don’t know; that’s for the courts to decide.
What I do know is they shouldn’t have been at a bar in the first place. They ...

With all the questions swirling around the Nebraska Cornhuskers quarterback situation, one thing has become quite clear: Cody Green may never see the starting job. First, it's evident Zac Lee will open the season as the starter from there it will be his job to lose. His arm is finally healthy and we might see a vast improvement this season. However, should he fail and lose the job after the first few games or ...

2011 Cincinnati Bearcat Recruiting Class Beginning to Take Shape
According to rivals.com, from 2002-2008, the University of Cincinnati had no four-stars in any recruiting class. In the days of former head coach Rick Minter and Conference USA, even three-stars were difficult to come by.
With the Bearcats' entrance into the Big East, bigger name recruits began to come. Three-stars became more common, but still no four-stars to speak of.
In 2009, Cincinnati received its first two four-star recruits in an eternity when it signed junior college ...
2010 NCAA Football Predictions: Clemson Will Make Noise in ACC
Clemson finished the 2009 season at 9-5, capping the season off with a win over Kentucky in the Music City Bowl.
It's probably bad karma to complain about a nine-win campaign, but 2009 could have been really special.
The Tigers should have never lost to Maryland, the worst team in the ACC, and the team couldn't hold onto a pair of fourth quarter leads against ACC champion Georgia Tech in two meetings last season.
After getting so close ...

Recruiting 101: Get To Know College Football’s Better Half
After writing upwards of 100 articles on recruiting for B/R, it's funny now to be posting something on Recruiting 101. "Now that we've finished chapter ten, allow me to introduce myself..."
But I also learned a few things from this primer on the terms, chronologies and events in a recruit's life leading up the signing of a letter of intent.
Starting at the very basics, what would you need to know to become a true recruitnik? Click ...
