A former UCF player is now on his way to stardom. Michael Lynche , who played in 20 games as a Knight in the 2001-2002 season, has made the cut for the Top 24 on TV's hit show American Idol. Lynche played defensive tackle for the UCF Knights from 2001-02. He made an immediate impact as a freshman out of St. Petersburg's Gibbs High School. Wisconsin football coach Bret Bielema recently announced the indefinite suspension of three current freshmen on the team, including wide receiver Kraig Appleton, after a violation of team rules.
