Blown Coverage: Michigan’s Secondary Must Step Up against Spartans
The scene was painful for Michigan fans last weekend.
Hoosier wideout Tandon Doss went around the edge and escaped the Michigan defenders and secondary en route to the end zone. Indiana running back Darius Willis took the hand off and burned past a hapless Michigan secondary en route to an 85-yard touchdown.
Doss handcuffed a Michigan corner back and easily hauled in a 56-yard pass from quarterback Ben Chappell.
Despite the big plays from Indiana, the ...
Hokie Fans Laughing at Disrespect
As Virginia Tech continues to win games after their opening day loss to Alabama, the media continues to ignore that the Hokies may actually have a formidable team.
If I remember correctly, Miami came into Blacksburg last Saturday and left with a 24-point loss, their first of the season.
However, Miami has received more publicity about the loss than Virgina Tech has for the win. If Miami was "back" then where does that leave Virginia Tech? Are ...
16 Teams Still In The Hunt For The National Title: So Says The Vegas Odds
With teams playing either four games or less so far this college football season, some teams are already out of the National Title hunt. Well they might not be totally out but lets just say the odds are against them.
Before every season I do a top 25 according to Vegas and this year was no different. Things have changed in a hurry and according to those willing to put their money where their mouth ...
Texas A&M-Arkansas: Both Will Bend, but Who Will Break in the Southwest Classic?
In a renewed old school Southwest Conference rivalry, which hasn't been played since 1991, Texas A&M and Arkansas have both showed the ability to score.
After three games, the Aggies still lead D-I in offensive yards per game. Arkansas is no scrubinni at 19th best.
The question is not whether there could be 1,000 yards gained in this game, but rather which defense will allow those yards to end in points.
A&M's defense is hovering around the middle of ...
Tim Tebow Will Absolutely Start (And Win) The Game Against LSU.
Gator fans, be easy. Tiger fans, be fearful. Tim Tebow is about to rock your world.
For Gator fans, Tebow has been rocking us since 2006 with his energy injecting high impact plays. From the fourth down conversion at Tennessee in 2006 to the option clinic he put on in Kentucky last week (I'm assuming it was a class since the defenders didn't look like they were really trying), Tebow has been our Superman.
Which is why ...
Top 25 College Football Picks For Week Five
Another week of shocking upsets in the book. Iowa defeats Penn St. in Happy Valley. Oregon dismantles Cal at home. South Carolina shocks Ole Miss. South Florida embarrasses FSU on their home turf. A total of seven ranked teams lost, six of them to unranked opponents.
Will this week be more of the same? It's time for me to help you out, and I'm sure I'll be able to feed your wallets again this week.
Last Week's ...
The Sunbelt is Once More America’s Weakest FBS Conference.
Only one team in the Sunbelt has a winning record after four weeks. No other conference can say that.
Perhaps the most disappointing start to the year belongs to Florida Atlantic, where Howard Schnellenberger's Owls are 0-3. They were blown out by Nebraska in Week One, beaten soundly by South Carolina, and then edged out by what appears a very mediocre UL-Monroe team last week.
Florida International is also a hugely disappointing 0-3. They looked like the ...
House Divided: The Ten Best Michigan-Michigan State Games Of All Time
The Michigan-Michigan State Rivalry will kick off its 102nd meeting this Saturday when the 22nd-ranked Wolverines travel to East Lansing.
The Wolverines will try to avenge their disappointing loss last year at home to the Spartans, current keepers of the Paul Bunyan Trophy.
Just in the past decade, this rivalry has played out in some of the most exciting, unnerving, and unbelievable comeback victories.
This season's version promises the same: disrespectful interceptions, eye-popping momentum swings, ugly hits.
Before we ...
Indiana-Michigan: Hoosiers’ Upset Bid Falls Just Short, Lose 36-33
Despite the loss, Indiana comes home with plenty of confidence.
To stay with a team ranked in the top 25 in the country for the whole game, and almost win, is a big step up from last year, when the team couldn't dream of competing with the rest of the Big 10.
And on top of that, to do it in one of—if not the biggest—stadiums in the country (capacity 106,000) is even more impressive.
Although the ...
NCAA Football: Week Five Predictions and Scores
Hey again college football fans. Welcome back to my weekly prediction's and score's slideshow. Last week I had another pretty solid weak and my upset picks were right on for the most part. I nailed Iowa's win, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, and Oregon. If you are new to my picks, I pick every game in the AP Top 25 and also choose a handful of intriguing games outside of the top 25. My upsets are ...
