The Fight for the BCS: Why the System Works
Everywhere on this website, and anywhere else for that matter, all you read about is how the BCS needs to be taken out and replaced by a playoff.
I disagree, and here is why.
The BCS is said to have started in 1998 between Tennessee and Florida State, but it was truly started in 1992 under the name the Bowl Coalition. Ever since that year it has been constantly expanding and adapting to the ever changing game of college football.
Probably the largest ...

Devin Gardner Willing to Compete for Michigan Wolverines
Inkster star Devin Gardner is solid Blue, regardless of the competition at the quarterback position for Michigan.
"I’m going to have to compete regardless," Gardner said. "If he does well that just makes for more competition."Gardner understands competition at the highest levels, having participated in the prestigious Elite 11 Camp this summer.
“I like the competition," Gardner said. "If you go to a Nike camp or something else, another camp, there's some guys who aren’t that good ...
Another Winning Season: The Legend of Don Schaly
“That’s him.” The lone figure stood unrecognizably about twenty yards up ahead, on the steps leading to the diamond. The shadow of stadium lights gave the appearance of a halo outlining his hunched form, and a single line of wispy cigarette smoke rose above him.
I asked my father how he could be so sure. “See that trail of smoke?” Dad said. “It’s him. No question.”Don Schaly lived at Pioneer Park. No, check that. He was ...

If you’re looking for a prediction for No. 12 Cal’s season opener this Saturday in the Strawberry Canyon, Vegas has the Bears as a three-touchdown favorite against Maryland. But if you’re looking for a lock, a sure thing, a bet you can take to the bank: At some point this Saturday, odds are, during the Bears’ first offensive drive, you will ask yourself—and then your neighbor—“Who’s No.1?”Marvin Jones is his name. He’s 6'2," 190 pounds. He’s ...
California Love: A Tribute To the Golden Bears’ 2009 Football Season
I realize that this is not a traditional article, but I decided that the kickoff to Cal's season is too important and amazing to describe in prose.
So without further ado, I present my rap stylings (to the beat of 2Pac's "California Love", featuring Dr. Dre).
Please comment and me know if I have a future as a rapper.
Chorus
California...football is startin’
California...football is startin’
In the citaaay by the bay
In the citaaay, of boycotts
In the citaaay, the city ...
College Football Predictions: Baby’s Losers for the First Saturday in September
Back for the second year in a row on Bleacher Report is the weekly series Baby's Losers.
The vast majority of college football predictions concern who will be the winner on any given Saturday. Let us look at it from the opposite standpoint of who will be the loser and why.
The rules are presented in the following paragraphs. For the "pros" in their second year, suffice to say they are the same as last season with one difference.
The difference is the addition of ...
Is There More to The Michigan Story?
On it's face, the violation that the players are accusing the coaching staff of; abusive practice times way beyond the NCAA allowed time frames, are not that much of a bombshell. Assuming this is the only violation and that more doesn't surface, it will most likely be met with only minor sanctions. However, I don't think the violations are necessarily the big story.
Think about it... UCF had a player die last year in practice. Anyone ...
College Football: Auburn Quarterbacks a Story of Perseverance
When Auburn kicks off Saturday against Louisiana Tech, they will have a pair of quarterbacks that have certainly been through their share of trials and tribulations.
When Chris Todd was named Auburn's starting quarterback last week, it started another chapter in Todd's long journey to become a starting quarterback in big time college football.
Todd signed with Texas Tech coming out of high school in Elizabethtown, KY. He was a prolific passer in high school throwing ...

Trapped behind enemy lines, amidst a sea of Scarlet and Grey, it's hard to imagine a win for the Wolverines this year. Even so, that's precisely what I'm going to point out is possible. Listen up, Rich Rodriguez, here's your inside scoop into what fears Buckeye Nation has for this year and how Michigan can exploit them on Nov. 21.
1. The line, while big, is slower than it has been in a while.
This is ...
