Mack Brown: College Football’s $5 Million Man

Fresh off his second Big 12 Title and fourth BCS bowl berth, Texas Athletic Director DeLoss Dodds made Mack Brown the highest paid head coach in college football.

Said Dodds, "Mack is the best college football coach in America and this action recognizes him for that. He brought new life to our program and he's done it with great integrity and class. He is who we want at Texas for as long as he is willing to serve as our head coach."

Included in the deal was a $2 million raise from his previous annual salary of $3 million, surpassing that of Bob Stoops at $4.3 million and Pete Carroll, the former highest paid coach, at $4.4 million a year.
