Can Tennessee Overcome These Newest Distractions and Finish Strong?

The loss to SEC foe Auburn seemed to be a wake up call to most fans. It was a contest of two rebuilding teams with two new SEC coaches. This game would go far in showing which team was making the biggest strides.

Auburn won that in a close contest, but it may have been a turning point for Tennessee. They committed themselves to knuckle down and work hard, and they certainly did that the next week in completely demolishing an old SEC foe, Georgia, 45-19.

Crompton ended up silencing many of his boo bird fans, and the following week they almost succeeded in pulling off the upset of perhaps one of the best teams in the nation, a 12-10 loss to Alabama.
