It was supposed to be a down year for Missouri; they lost too much on offense to compete with that defense. Well, both sides of the ball showed up to drub the Illini and move  Missouri into the top 25.  This means that half of the Big 12 is ranked.A feat like this is Extremely impressive and not something we have seen often from any conference, Especially not one big enough to have a conference championship game. Also, Texas Tech is in the top 30 so if all the ranked teams can avoid cougar-style upsets. It may be seven really soon.
