ACC Baseball Tournament 2012: Jake Davies’ Power Proves He’s Legit MLB Prospect

Jake Davies should be grabbing the attention of major league scouts now, if he wasn't before. After primarily pitching early in his college career, Davies is showing that his best trait is his power at the plate.

He was at it again on Saturday, guiding the surprise Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets to the ACC Championship game with his fourth long ball in the tournament, a two-run shot in the first inning.

The Yellow Jackets downed Clemson 5-1 to move on.

The Yellow Jackets are an eighth seed with only a 12-18 record in league play, but they have gotten hot at the right time. Much of that can be credited to Davies' leadership and power-hitting.
