Arizona coach Sean Miller had just seen his team survive one of its toughest tests to date, rallying late to win 60-57 at Stanford on Jan. 29. There wasn't much time to celebrate, though, because there were more pressing issues to attend to. And not just the upcoming game at California. The matter of how to fill two off days on the road with meaningful, focus-holding activities was far more of a concern to Miller, he told ...

But thanks to the efforts of defensive coordinator Mike Stoops, they’ll also enter as legitimate national title contenders. Sure, the stellar play of Trevor Knight and the Oklahoma offense during the thrilling upset of Alabama, 45-31, in the Sugar Bowl seems to be dominating headlines as of late. However, everyone seems to forget just who carried the team ...

College football teams battle every year to create the coolest jerseys, and maybe they should think about using some radical designs. Seriously. Not too long ago, we saw Mr. Design Junkie give NFL teams a makeover. He also took the time to design new jerseys for some of the bigger college football programs. Florida State, please make these happen: The Miami Hurricanes have a few options: If Ohio State ever went away from its traditional look, these uniforms would be ...

Wisconsin Football: Spring Checklist for the Badgers

Wisconsin football didn't miss a beat in transitioning to the Gary Andersen era in 2013. It won games big and lost games by 10 or fewer points—that's just what Badger football is these days. Entering 2014, the Badgers face some challenges. Having 26 players leave the program as seniors has a way of doing that. So does furthering a transition to what Andersen envisions for his team. The Badgers are facing life without a 1,400-yard rusher (James White), ...

Brian Kelly kicked off spring football in unusual fashion on Friday, wisecracking that the local temperature was below zero when he started the car this morning to head to campus. It's a spring unlike any other in Kelly's 25 years of coaching, with the Irish pushing up their calendar for a variety of reasons.  Notre Dame will practice twice before spring break, then not again for two weeks. The Blue-Gold Game will be played April 12, ...

Thanks to a 45-31 win over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, the Sooners should be the preseason favorite to win the conference next season.  The hype isn't unfounded, though. Oklahoma returns its entire defensive front six/seven and quarterback Trevor Knight, whose potential makes him a scary player for opposing defenses.  Be prepared to hear about it all offseason, folks.  What does Oklahoma need to do this ...

Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller won the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year Award as a sophomore in 2012 and as a junior in 2013, and he was supposed to declare for the 2014 NFL draft after enjoying so much success, but he surprised many by choosing to return for his senior season in Columbus. Miller's return suppresses the void atop the conference's offensive hierarchy and makes him the overwhelming favorite to three-peat as its top offensive ...

Buy or Sell Steve Sarkisian’s USC Team as Legitimate National Title Contenders

The drama of USC's 2013 campaign could've been more accurately played in an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. The Trojans fired Lane Kiffin, turned things around under interim coach Ed Orgeron, but Orgeron later left the school after being passed over for the head coaching job by Steve Sarkisian. While there is still a new head coach in town, in a way the waters have calmed at USC. Sarkisian is a familiar face to Trojans ...
