Just when we thought the conference realignment storm had passed, it turns out we were just in the eye of it.  Suddenly, the major conference shuffling has once again reached whirlwind proportions, as Texas A&M has been reported to finally be making the long-rumored jump from the ever-weakening Big 12 Conference to the SEC, this just months after both the Pac-10 (now 12) and Big Ten both expanded themselves. And apparently seeing the Aggies jump ...

Just another sleepy, August Saturday morning, right? Sources at the school have confirmed the Aggies will be leaving the Big 12, guaranteeing the SEC will have at least 13 teams. It’s almost a ...

SEC Expansion: Clemson, You Don’t Want to Leave the ACC

Clemson to the SEC?That's a laugher...a big fat laugher.Does Clemson really want to do that? They are a mediocre ACC team; a mid-tier team in a mid-tier conference. I just don't understand the thinking that the Tigers would improve in any way by jumping to the SEC. Don't give me the historical data of South Carolina versus Clemson—I know it, and this isn't about the rivalry. If you think it puts the two in-state teams on an ...

With the rumors abound about Texas A&M looking to move from the Big 12 conference to the Southeastern Conference, the landscape of college sports is on a fast downward spiral towards a handful of power conferences. Last offseason saw a former power conference in the Big 12 almost be destroyed before its own eyes with the proposed power Pacific-16 conference. This was to be a conference that stretched from the Pacific Northwest to mid-Texas. The University ...

For those who bought into the "the SEC might not be the strongest conference" nonsense, it's going to be difficult to make that argument if this expansion happens. It doesn't have to happen in it's entirety either. Even adding Texas A&M would ...
